|Pinnacle Mountain Overlook Backpacking - MileStepper Trip Plan|
Let’s take a hike over to Pinnacle Mountain in South Carolina. Pinnacle Mountain is right outside of Table Rock State Park and offers some spectacular views of the lower foothills, and Greenville if you catch it just right.
The hike is moderate, about 2-3 hours, and 500 feet of ascent. It’s harder coming out than it is going in, so feel free to bring a lot of consumables.
I’ve included a map with elevation profile, and some pictures of the views we’ll see.
This is a Fair Weather Not Miserable trip. We’ll only do it if there’s a low volume of rain, and due to the exposure to the open foothills, reasonable temperatures (around freezing or above).
The Incredible Mountain View Campsite only has a few tent spots. We’ll check it out and see if it works. If not, we’ll grab another site. There’s quite a few options, but it is a reasonably popular place. If Alternate Site #1 is open, we should probably take it.
